                             The Alumni Association Needs You

  As part of the 20,500  East High Alumni we need you help to: "REKINDLE THE SPIRIT" and 
  "PROMOTE THE PRIDE" that we have always had at East High.  Recently East High was slated to 
  be closed by the Akron Board of Education. Through the efforts of EHS Alumni, students and 
  community leaders the decision was reversed and our school was saved. 

  It is our belief that as a result of the political processes involved in raising funds for 
  public schools,and state mandated expenditures, funds for local schools will never be 
  adequate to provide the many significant educational opportunities otherwise available. The 
  Association has provided support and financial assistance for: Academic Scholarships,
  Basketball Teams,Softball Team,Bowling Club,Football Team,Vocational Ed.,Cheerleaders, Cross 
  Country Teams.

  Current funding is a result of Individual Gifts, Continuing Alumni Scholarships, Raffles, 
  Memorial Endowments etc.

  Last year(2005) $42,000 dollars was made available  through scholarships to the students at 
  East High. If you have ever thought about a memorial for a loved one, the Association is a 
  non-profit 501 (c)- 3  organization, registered in Ohio and the IRS.  For info or answers,
