In January, 2008, the last classes were held in the old Barber School building on Garry Rd.
Beginning on February 4 of that year, Barber students began bussing to
their temporary home in the old Mason School. The last classes at the old Mason building
were Friday, December 18, 2009.
Nearly two years after the first busses arrived at Mason, Barber students and staff are
back again on Garry Rd., but this time in a brand new building. The new Barber
Community Learning Center opened its doors to students on Monday, January 4, 2010.

Barber fourth graders became amateur explorers of early Ohio on the
afternoon of November 4 when the Summit County Historical Society
visited presenting a lesson from its fourth grade outreach series entitled
A River Through Time.
Led by Society educator, Mrs. Mary Conley, the students traced the history
of native people in Ohio beginning with the Ice Age, through the Paleo period, on
to the rise of the Mound Builders, and finally studying the Woodland tribes.
Students learned about and handled artifacts, tools, and clothing from those eras.
