East Cluster schools receive grant

As part of its Teach Arts Ohio program, the Ohio Arts Council has awarded the Akron Public Schools a grant totaling $49,500 to fund an artist in residence for four of the East Cluster elementary schools.

The funding and length of programs for the four schools are as follows:

• Barber awarded $9,100 for 26 weeks;
• Mason awarded $9,1000 for 26 weeks;
• Robinson awarded $9,100 for 26 weeks; and
• Seiberling awarded $13,650 for 39 weeks.

Here (item 19.5) is the resolution from the August 14 meeting of Akron Board of Education accepting the grant.
