Sanitary Products
in Ohio Schools

Effective October 3, all Ohio school districts will be required to make sanitary napkins and other menstrual products available and free to all its middle and high school female students.

Official wording from the Ohio Department of Education reads:
"To increase student wellness and address barriers that prevent students from engaging in learning, schools and districts are now required to provide feminine hygiene (menstrual) products for students in grades six through twelve."

As part of the newly-enacted state budget, which takes effect October 1, $5,000,000 has been allocated for the purchase of feminine hygiene products for Ohio schools.
